Become a Member

If you are interested in becoming a member of The Saturday Music Club, contact the president by sending an email to terrirowe@ gmail.com. Becoming a member gives you an opportunity to:

  • Gain performance experience in our regular meetings and in our philanthropic program.
  • Further your own musical knowledge through attendance at our programs.
  • Bring music to others through performances at hospitals, nursing homes, retirement villages and the like.
  • Encourage musical interests of young people through The Saturday Music Club scholarship.
  • Contribute to the advancement of music on the State and National levels through the Ohio and National Federations of Music Clubs.

Membership Obligations

Members are expected to support the club through:

  • Performance
  • Attendance
  • Service on Executive Board and/or Committees
  • Payment of annual dues ($35 annually for adults, $25 for senior high affiliate members or seniors [70+])

Solo performance Department (Adult and Senior High Affiliate Memberships)

Ensemble Department (Adult and Senior High Affiliate Memberships)

  • Vocal
  • Instrumental
  • Keyboard
  • Keyboard Accompanist
  • Vocal Ensemble
  • Instrumental Ensemble

Musicology Department (Adult Membership Only)

Education Department (Adult Membership Only )

Music Appreciation Department (Adult and Senior High Affiliate Memberships)

Requirements for Becoming a Member

Solo Performance Department (Vocal, Instrumental, Keyboard)

  • By letter of recommendation from a club member; or by audition, if unknown to members
    • If by audition, two selections by composers representing two different musical periods. Auditions can be in person or via YouTube.

Keyboard Accompanist

  • By letter of recommendation from a club member; or by audition, if unknown to members
    • If by audition, one prepared accompaniment with a soloist of your choice and one sight-read accompaniment

Ensemble Department (Vocal, Instrumental)

  • Letter of recommendation from a club member with knowledge of your ability
  • Three years of choral or instrumental ensemble experience

Musicology Department

  • Outstanding contributions in the field of music; or one or more college degrees in music

Education Department

  • Accredited and established teacher of music

Music Appreciation Department

  • An interest in music
